Real Estate Mogul Malibu Home

I love this Malibu home of real-estate mogul Kurt Rappaport and his fiancée, model Sarah Mutch, it is truly outstanding!

The 15,000-square-foot residence is spread out over six-acres with living room, a master suite with a luxurious bathroom, a wing of bedrooms, basement with a game room , home theater, and adjacent pavilion containing two guest suites. Outside, the 168-foot-long infinity pool is said to be the longest residential swimming pool in California. Need anything else????

“I’m obsessed with the ways that buildings express the subtle qualities of the materials used in their construction,” says architectural designer Scott Mitchell, who began working on the project shortly after Rappaport acquired the land in 2006. “This house is all about honoring the integrity of concrete and glass while creating a rhythmic interplay between those materials and the landscape.”

Do you like the home? Would you move in? Let us know your thoughts!

Tiny space holds a Ton

Thinking of living the studio apartment life? But you aren’t sure if it is for you? Well, this Lower Eastside Studio Apartment proves that if you decorate the apartment right that a studio apartment can be right for anybody!

This studio at 237 Eldridge Street was designed by Kenneth Nilson, an Arch Digest- and Interior Design Magazine-approved decorator. Nilson added customized built-ins to the main living room, which include cantilevered bookshelves and window-seat storage, a Murphy bed obscured by a vaguely theatrical red curtain, a walk-in closet, and two workstations for a home-office.

The kitchen is also sizable (with updated appliances) for an apartment with this little square footage, especially one that’s in a six-floor tenement building built in 1900, plus there’s a washer/dryer.

This co-op in 2005 for $187,000, and they’re now asking $425,000! Interested in the studio life, but you aren’t sure if it is for you? The agents at Mr. Real Estate can help you decide the right choice for you!

Everything is bigger in Texas!

I think now is a good time to talk about my home state Texas! We  have shown you  the amazing homes of celebrities in the Hollywood Hills, Valley and Malibu areas of California, but I want to show you an example how much land AND home you could get in Texas for the same price if not cheaper. Not to mention the many tax benefits you can get on your property for being Agricultural exempt (Ag Exempt) for having live stock, crops, etc. Many high net worth individuals invest in land to diversify their portfolios, tax breaks, secondary/vacation home, price per square foot, etc. This is something believe it or not that I know all too well! Growing up I spent part of my life in Hempstead, TX where my parents built their dream home on  24 acres, with a pond stocked with catfish and planted watermelons, greens, and hay. Ya…I’m really a country boy at heart. I learned so much about agriculture and the many benefits it offers land owners in a rural community. Ironically , I am using that same knowledge I learned on my parents mini ranch to help clients who need to invest in land via tax purposes, second home, get away or primary residence. Take a look at this example of the beautiful country Texas has to offer…
